About Us and the Electronic Music Cafe

The Electronic Music Cafe’ is the brainchild of the House Music legend and pioneer, Jesse Saunders.

Jesse wrote, produced, performed and released the world’s first documented House Music recording entitled “ON & ON,” on his upstart record label, Jes Say Records in January of 1984.  Jesse went on to produce the world’s largest selling and most covered House Music song “Love Can’t Turn Around.”  He also wrote the book “House Music…The Real Story,” which is the definitive history of this musical phenomenon.  A Google or Yahoo search about Jesse will produce over 600,000+ and 1,000,000+ hits respectively!

This year, after releasing the 25th Anniversary of House Music compilation, which has been in the top 20 of most major retailers, Jesse has embarked on a world Tour (sponsored by Red Stripe beer), which features the world’s first House Music Art Exhibit, that has already sold out clubs and arenas across the USA and will hit countries such as The United Kingdom, South Africa, Germany, Australia, Japan, China, India, Brazil, Mexico and Canada!  The culmination of which will be the building of the Electronic Music Café in Las Vegas, which will house the travelling exhibit and be the foundation for the first ever musically inspired art gallery.   Jesse’s plan is to franchise the Art & Music Gallery/Café across the USA and abroad in the mold of the Hard Rock Café.  The tour has already garnered rave reviews and plentiful video footage, which makes this project a hot commodity.  Here are links which feature reviews and video coverage of the tour:

The creative accomplishments of Evie and Jesse is certain to produce an experience like none other. They share their passion for the arts, creativity and food. The foundation of the Electronic Music Café is music reflected in art. But their intention is to excite all the senses. They have created the funkiest, coolest, most artistic place to hang out in Las Vegas and get your groove on all at once

Here are some of the highlights of Electronic Music Café:

Artistic Creation – The gallery/café will encourage artists to collaborate, and electronically design their art in-house, which will become a part of the exhibits and be available for printing directly to canvas instantly!  All art shall be musically inspired.  Of course we will also consider pieces that they do on their own…

Atmosphere Mixing – The atmosphere (lighting, scent and sound) will be controlled digitally by the music playing and the art displayed.  Art will be housed in light boxes, which will change colors depending on the mood of the Gallery/Café.

Award Show – Part of the 25th Anniversary of House Music Tour features an award for the pioneer in each market that the tour hits.  This pioneer has shown the most dedication to making House Music happen in that particular market.  We will house a Hall of Fame at the Gallery/café which will feature the awards given, and subsequently produce an awards show each year.

Corporate Branding – The gallery/café will be built with an intricate branding design, which enables corporate sponsors to build their marketing within the art experience and broadcast to via the internet.

DJs & VJs – DJs and Video DJs will be featured on a daily basis in various musical genres including Jazz, Reggae and Electronic Music.  With their unique flair, each experience will be an artistic musical journey and something to behold.  Each DJ will have to produce a show and understand what the arrangement of a successful show is all about.  Unlike most venues that will hire any DJ who wants to play, Jesse Saunders is highly selective in the talent that is booked.  After all, this experience is being broadcast to the world…the world is his stage!

Educational Features – From time to time we will feature interactive workshops with guest speakers and current artists.  This builds our artistic community into one in which everyone gains from the experiences unlike any other gallery that exists today!

Interactive Experience – Each exhibit will feature an interactive experience for the patron to not only view and read about the art, but also control what they would like to research or experience digitally.

Merchandising – Even our merchandising will be a creative experience!  We will not set prices, but ask our patrons to donate or challenge them to set a price of what they think a particular piece of Art is worth!  Unlike most galleries, we will only give the costs associated with producing that particular piece of Art.  The cost beyond that is entirely up to the patron!  In these terrible economic times, we want to be a trendsetter in changing the scope of net worth!

Interactive Media & Marketing – Everything that happens at the Gallery/Café will be streamed online via our web site: www.ElectronicMusicCafe.com.  In addition, all social networks including FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter and more shall be promoted and have full access to any events that are being hosted.  The Electronic Music Café is not just a static venue; it’s fully interactive and takes advantage of all of the media avenues available unlike any other!

Music & Video Compilations – All original music shall be compiled and sold via digital download from retailers such as iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Beatport, TraxSource and more.  A compilation will be produced no less than quarterly of the various exhibits that we curate within the Gallery/Café.

Radio Show & Video – The music played at the café shall always be available for broadcast and streaming via the web site.  In addition, anyone take a peek into what’s going on inside the Gallery/Café with a membership obtained via the web site!

Venue Rental – The Gallery/Café shall be available for exclusive rental.  This is where our branding department is at its best!  Las Vegas is the convention capital of the world and as such a unique experience is sought after like gold.  The Electronic Music Café will be Las Vegas’ most artistic unique experience by far!
